Make the palette useful
How does color analysis help a wardrobe?
Personal color analysis considers which colors to use as a starting point for your clothing choices. Style direction brings that guidance back to the clothes you wear: your neutrals, accent colors, proportions and outfit combinations.
It can help when you keep buying a color you never wear, struggle to combine pieces or want a clearer shopping plan. It does not mean replacing everything you own or following a palette instead of your own taste.
If your main challenge is editing a full closet or planning a week of outfits, the Wardrobe Reset may be the better starting point. You can ask for help choosing in your brief.
Before you enquire
Bring your questions.
Keep your wardrobe.
No need to shop first or decide which season you are. A useful brief includes:
- Your goal: choosing work clothes, packing for a trip, shopping with more direction or understanding why current pieces feel difficult to wear.
- Your starting point: colors you enjoy, pieces you reach for and clothes you like but cannot combine. Note any previous palette advice and what you found useful.
- Your practical needs: workplace dress requirements, preferred coverage, comfort, budget and any upcoming deadline.
- Your location and preferred format: this helps establish availability and the appropriate way to assess color before you book.
Any photographs, clothing examples or other preparation needed for the agreed format will be confirmed with you. You do not need to send sensitive personal information in the enquiry form.
Try this with what you own
From one color
to a complete outfit.
This is an illustrative wardrobe exercise, not a personal color assessment or client result.
- Choose one neutral bottom you already wear comfortably.
- Try it with two different tops and the shoes you would actually wear. Add your usual jacket or layer.
- Note which combinations you would wear for a real day and which need a different layer, proportion or color.
For example, navy trousers might already work with both an ivory shirt and a muted green knit. That gives you two possible combinations to try; it does not establish that navy, ivory or green belongs in your personal palette. Check fit, comfort and dress requirements as well as color.
Use the notes to explain what you want help with. A palette becomes useful when it supports outfits you can actually wear.
Practical answers
Before you book.
How much does color analysis cost?
Color + Style Direction starts at $325 USD. It includes color analysis in an agreed format, personal style direction, a practical palette and style notes, and a next-step wardrobe plan. Your total fee and scope are agreed before booking; clothing purchases are separate.
Is this a seasonal color analysis?
Tell us if you are looking for a seasonal palette or have received one before. We will confirm the approach, format and deliverables before you book. The package does not promise a particular seasonal system, a fixed number of colors or a result from an online quiz.
Can color analysis be done virtually?
Lighting, photo exposure and screen settings can change how colors appear. Photos may support a discussion, but we do not promise a definitive remote color analysis or exact seasonal palette from them. The appropriate format is agreed separately. Virtual wardrobe editing, outfit planning and shopping guidance are available across the US.
